He will assume his new duties, with overall responsibility for the company’s flight operations and its cockpit crew corps, on 1 January 2026. He succeeds Stefan-Kenan Scheib, who joined the Executive Board of Austrian Airlines as its Chief Operating Officer on 15 September 2025. Dominik Jäggi is presently SWISS’s Fleet Chief Long-Haul, with responsibility for the operational coordination of the SWISS long-haul aircraft fleet and its cockpit personnel.
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has appointed Dominik Jäggi as its new Head of Flight Operations. He will take up his new duties, with strategic and operational responsibility for the company’s flight operations and its cockpit crew corps of some 1,400 pilots, on 1 January 2026. He will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer in his new capacity.
Dominik Jäggi, who is 52, is presently SWISS’s Fleet Chief Long-Haul, with responsibility for the operational coordination and management of the SWISS long-haul aircraft fleet, for its long-haul cockpit crew corps and for his own leadership team.
After completing his studies in engineering, Dominik Jäggi began his professional career with Swiss Re. He then entered the Swissair Flying School in 2000. He went on to acquire his commercial pilot experience at Edelweiss and – since 2007 – at SWISS, serving on various short- and long-haul aircraft types.
In fall 2019 he was appointed Deputy Fleet Chief Airbus A320, and in August 2022 he joined SWISS’s Flight Operations Management team as Deputy Head of Flight Operations. He has also been serving as SWISS Fleet Chief Long-Haul since January 2024; and he further flies as a Captain on the Boeing 777.
“In Dominik Jäggi we have appointed a highly motivated colleague with extensive flying expertise and leadership experience to this key position,” says SWISS Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer. “With his many years of service in the management of our flight operations, he is fully familiar with the processes, the people and the challenges at our airline. He also brings to his new position the precise blend of experience, calm and decisiveness that we need in the present phase of our further development. I offer him my warmest congratulations on his appointment, and I look forward to working with him.”
Dominik Jäggi grew up near Zurich in an aviation family. He still lives there today with his wife and son.
