29.11.2025 SWISS Newsbrief #1: Airbus software problems have not caused any restrictions to SWISS flight operations

Airbus yesterday informed all airlines worldwide that software adjustments are necessary for certain aircraft in the A320 family. These requirements were issued in coordination with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and must be implemented by tonight; this also applies to part of the SWISS fleet.

Last night, SWISS began implementing the required software updates with an extraordinary effort from its technical teams. The affected aircraft were modified at a high pace to ensure that all requirements are fully met within the specified deadline.

Today, Saturday, after midday, the technicians completed the conversion of the last aircraft. As a result, the Airbus software issues have not caused any restrictions to SWISS flight operations nor any impact on our guests.

The safety of our guests and crews is always SWISS’s top priority. At the same time, we do everything possible to minimize the impact of such technical incidents on our passengers. This success is thanks to the great commitment and high professionalism of our technical crews.
